This past Saturday was hard. It all started when I woke up. That’s right, you know what I’m talking about! We’ve all been there before. We wake up on the proverbial “wrong side of the bed.”
Well, since becoming a father of a six- and two-year-old boys I’ve been learning a lot. You would think that I would be teaching…and I am at times…but these two boys tend to teach me! I had to admit to my six-year-old that I was in a bad mood on Saturday although he was fully aware of me! Here’s how the exchange went:
Me: I’m sorry for waking up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
Son: Yeah, you did, but it’s ok.
Me: We’ll I woke up on the right side of the bed because thats the side I always sleep on.
Son: Yeah, but you woke up on the wrong side of the attitude!
Me: *Sigh!* Will you forgive me, Son?
Son: Of course I will! I love you, Dad!
Me: *Sob! Sob!*
I’ve been keeping myself on the right side of the attitude since then. Thank you, Elijah, for these words of wisdom.
Out of the mouths of babes…
Yes…what a blessing!
