Well, everything in my backyard is frozen . . . as well as in the front yard and everywhere else around us! Now I’m not much on cold days. I would rather be in bed, snuggled under a bunch of blankets, and away from any semblance of ice and snow. But today I have my two boys. They would like to be out in this stuff. Yes, I’ve seen others on Facebook enjoying themselves outside. I’m just not that guy. I would rather sweat than shiver any day.
But there is something in the Scriptures that tell us not to be so glum about the weather or any other circumstance that enters into our everyday existence. It reads like this:
This is the day the LORD has brought about. We will be happy and rejoice in it. (Psalm 118:24, NET)
So, with that said, let’s rejoice that there is ice and snow on the ground! Let’s sing praises to our God for He is good and righteous and bestows upon us beautiful weather! After all, it’s beginning to look a like Christmas!
P.S. The picture above is not my back or front yard!
